i recently made my first nordic coffee roadtrip with my friend adriana. we started in hamburg, which is not really scandinavia, but already north for us. we found a little place called black delight which was the perfect start of our trip.
nice interior, good barista skills and the nicest handmade bonus cards ever!
our first real nordic stop was copenhagen, where we stayed at a really nice apartment behind assistens kirkegård, a neighborhood called nørrebro. we had to wait a little to get into the apartment, so we decided to have some lunch first. we stopped at the laundromat cafe and had some really good burgers.
unfortunatly we got a parking ticket once we’re back at the car, even we had a valid ticket inside. seems like you have to park 10 meters away from a crossing, and we did only do 7.5 meters! bummer! we tried to talk to the guy who gave us the ticket, but he just said: “oh, this is gonna be really expensive, like 60 euros, or so.” ya, nice!
after moving our stuff up to the fith floor, we had to go out for coffee. after just a short walk we reached coffee collective!
it already was evening, so we just had to have an espresso to get the road trip feeling going. this kieni espresso (SL 28 and SL 34, sundried, picked dec. 2010) from nyeri, kenya was the most sour espresso i’ve ever had! but in a good way. it was so fruty, sour-cherrish like – it really wowed me!
seems like they’re in a really nice street, there’s a nice bakery small bars and restaurants all over the place. we straight went to retro cafe and had a mikkeller beer. yay. so good!
the next day we did some touristy stuff and rented bikes, so it was easy to get around town. we saw little mermaid and tivoli. our next coffee-related stop was estate coffee where we had a V60 with some caturra and red bourbon, called JAZ. pretty good stuff, very chocolate-like with lots of savory and saltiness.
copenhagen was a good nordic start for us, we really liked the city with all their bikers
and the good beer!
